Principle 01
Business Owners, Not Traders
We invest in businesses, not tickers. The work begins with ownership mentality, intrinsic value, and the patience to let time do its job.
BORA Capital is built on a simple idea: buying good businesses for less than they are worth and letting time do the work.
We think like business owners, not traders. A stock is not just a quote. It is partial ownership in a business with customers, competitors, managers, capital needs, and future earnings that may or may not justify the price being paid.
We invest in businesses, not in tickers
That framing changes the work. We are not trying to predict the next popular stock or explain every short-term market move. We are trying to understand the business deeply enough to decide whether the price leaves room for long-term value creation.
The questions are basic but demanding:
- Is the business inside our circle of competence?
- What are the drivers of future earnings?
- How durable are the economics?
- What price gives us a margin of safety?
Years, not months
Our ideal holding period is measured in years, not months. That does not mean every decision will work, and it does not remove risk. It does mean the portfolio should be built around business facts rather than market noise.
When opportunities are scarce, we wait. When value is clear, we act decisively.
